The aim of this trail
was to see what are the contructions like in a region that we loved
so much : CHABROUH
Another aim was to
compare between wheels and tyres and their respective traction on mud,
snow, water etc...
Tony had modular 15 wheels with sumitomo 33"
Majed Sfeir had genuine
Camel discovery wheels 16" fitted with Super Swamper TSL 265
Jihad Freim had his Range Rovers 16" wheels with 245 BF-Goodrich
all terrain
John Gibran had modular
15 wheels fitted with SIMEX 33" Jungle Trekker II
The snow was 2m high
at some places and we literally lost eachother if it wasnt for the radios
that we carried.
After all, truck
were working here the whole week and they didnt even stop today even
if it was : Sunday
Then the terrain
became a bit harsh, which gave us and our landies joy in our hearts
and our engines respectively.
After all we came
here to be able to reach the dam and we will.
Majed enjoyed the
snow+mud+^%$#
while pushing the
wheels to the testing limits.
Until some virgin
snow is reached ...
So he stopped allowing
John...
...and Sahar (driving
Tony's heavily modified Range Rover) to play along.
Majed had his chance
too. Proving that the camel discovery is a true Land Rover Vehicle.
(No this t-shirt is not for sale
I already begged him in vain)
Seems that people are right. We are not Land Rover fans, we are Land
Rover Fanatics.
...for a good reason.
Because after this
virgin-snow hill lies our destination...
...The Chabrouh Dam. Look at the
size of the supports they are putting inside the mountain. Nothing
looks familiar anymore here. We just hope that the profit the dam
will bring to the folks here will equal the harm they did to the beauty
of this place.
